Sewing Project
One of our most successful initiatives has been our sewing project. Under the able guidance of government certified professionals, we have effectively enabled women from underprivileged backgrounds to learn the craft of sewing and tailoring, acquire certifications.
Upon completion, we provided every individual with a sewing machine as well as start-up capital and ultimately helped these women start their own ventures. Due to its success, this has now become an ongoing annual project.
Beautician Project
A recent ongoing initiative by Krishti is our beautician project. Under the competent supervision of certified professionals, we will be coaching chosen few women from underprivileged backgrounds to offer a beautician’s course. These women will be equipped with technical and soft skills.
Upon completion, those seeking to start up own businesses are equipped with start-up capital, while others seeking jobs are offered jobs through our tie-ups with Beauty Parlours.
Cataract Operations
Over the past few years, several successful cataract surgeries were conducted through tie-ups with renowned doctors of Mumbai.
This was exclusively funded and organized by SPARSH in association with Bharat Sevashram Cancer Relief Fund to aid in such distress.
Eye Camps
Every year we host the Eye Camp for our underprivileged locals. Through tie-ups with doctors and professionals, we organise our camp that offers
- free eye testing for LIG
- followed by distribution of prescription spectacles
- Prescribed medicines for those needed.
- Cataract Detection – Identifying the cataract stage and recommend date for surgical procedure
CPR Camps
CPR, or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, is a life-saving technique performed in emergency situation. It involves providing chest compressions and rescue breaths to maintain blood circulation and oxygen supply to vital organs.
A recent successful initiative has been CPR awareness. This year, Krishti has conducted a CPR camp for members to teach them basic CPR.
Critical Healthcare Aid
Cancer can be degenerative and devastating. The need to aid cancer funding is paramount as it remains a global health challenge affecting millions of lives. Adequate funding is essential to support access to advanced treatments and comprehensive care, giving hope to the less fortunate and their families.
Krishti associates with Bharat Sevashram Cancer Relief Fund to aid this fight against this destructive disease.
Amphan Initiative
In May 2020, eastern India was hit by a severe cyclonic storm, Amphan causing widespread mass devastation. It included massive destruction of infrastructure, loss of lives, displacement of people, and long-lasting socio-economic impacts on the affected regions.
One such community that was affected severely was the fishing communities in West Bengal. Krishti distributed fishing nets in affected villages helping affected gain their sources of livelihood once more.

We joined hands in the fight against the spread of COVID-19, in our way trying to ease the lives of many around us.

Educational Initiatives
Education plays an important role in preserving culture & heritage. While our initiatives began with the purpose of promoting Bengali language, eventually they transitioned to encompass larger social causes.
