Our Inception

It all began in 1994 when a group of local residents in Lokhandwala Kandivali, all veterans in their field started bonding. It was decided to try to reach out to more people to expand the community.

Enthusiastic founders would even identify ladies wearing ‘sankhapala’ on streets as Bengalis and their families would be approached to join the community.

This deep bonding amongst the then Bengali families evoked a feeling of ‘togetherness’ which ultimately led to the formation of an Association called KRISHTI.

Our Association then organised the first festival, Kali Pujo in 1995. Thereafter, we celebrated Saraswati Puja in February 1997. In 2005, Krishti made it’s landmark with the first Durga Pujo.
